Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others

Teaming up again with director Andrew Wale and musical director Perrin Allen; Some Girls are Bigger than Others is the second performance created by Anonymous Society. This time the musical is based on the songs and music of British icon Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr of The Smiths. Taking on only a part of the choreography this time, Cherkaoui proposes surrealistic images that make you wonder; like when singer Katie Brayben climbs atop a pile made by the bodies of her colleagues, creating for her a pedestal. Literally at the summit she renders. There are moments when only hands appear at a table, to bring food to invisible bodies, giving you the feeling the performers are all just ghosts. The melancholic and dramatic music was performed by the actors/singers as well as by the string quartet Eclipse.
