Kaspy N'dia
Kaspy N’dia (born in 1983) graduated in 2010 as a musician from the Institut National des Arts in Kinshasa. Until 2012, he worked in Kinshasa with the Croisade Nationale Drépanocytose (CND), raising awareness in the fight against sickle cell disease.
Kaspy is currently a researcher at the Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches sur les Valeurs Africaines (CERVA/RDC) and also works as a coach at L'Oeuvre de Suivi, d'Encadrement et de Protection des Enfants de la Rue (OSEPER), supporting and mentoring street children in Kinshasa.
In 2013, he performed in A Season in the Congo by Aimé Césaire, directed by Joe Wright and co-directed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, as well as in 生长genesis by the same choreographer. He later created music and performed live in Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Fractus V, 4D+ (the duo Debt), in Stoic at GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, and in Nomad.
More recently, Kaspy created and directed Spiegel, a powerful and intimate multidisciplinary theatre piece about identity and self-image in a super-diverse society. Marking his first work as a director, Spiegel brings together seven artists from the worlds of music and dance to explore the question: How do I see myself through the eyes of others? Through 350 portraits created by N’dia, alongside music, dance, and poetry, the performance weaves a deeply personal and collective narrative. Presented at the Arenberg Theatre in Antwerp, Spiegel represents a significant milestone in his artistic and personal journey.
