About /

The educational projects of Eastman open a dialogue with a broad audience ranging from amateurs to professional dancers. Through the educational projects, participants discover Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s vision and dance language.

His dance language embraces dialogue. Cherkaoui starts from an openness to other cultures, traditions and forms of movement. In the Eastman workshops several and equally valuable sources of a contemporary dance language are explored.

Eastman offers workshops, masterclasses and guest lectures in Belgium and abroad. The concept of the project and the background of the participants are decisive to what the emphasis of the workshop will be. The teachers are connected to Eastman as a dancer or are artists working closely with the company.

Productions on tour are often the occasion for giving workshops abroad. The content of the workshop is adapted to the level of the participants. This may involve non-professionals, youngsters, students, but also professional dancers.

Besides the tour-related workshops Eastman also organises standalone educational projects on demand.
