Jonas Vandekerckhove is a freelance performer, choreographer and rehearsal director based in Brussels. He has collaborated with renowned choreographers and directors, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Damien Jalet, Marina Abramovic, Emanuel Gat, and Fabian Thomé, amongst others and has gathered diverse experiences encompassing dance, fashion, film, and opera. Jonas has been a long-standing member of Eastman dance company, having been part of productions such as: Nomad, Alceste, Vlaemsch (chez moi), Pelléas et Mélisande, Der Ring des Nibelungen, Shell Shock, and most recently Idomeneo, re di Creta.

Alongside his career as a performer and choreographic assistant, Jonas has been investing in his own collaborative body of work, resulting in projects like Discord, a movement performance co-choreographed with Wannes Labath in 2016; Au Mur de la Mer, a short film created and choreographed in collaboration with Astrid Sweeney and Shawn Ahern in 2020. In 2021 Astrid Sweeney and Jonas created the duet WEVEN as part of the exposition “Fête Permanante” at Espace Voltaire, Paris, France. In 2022 he worked with director Jaouad Alloul, as choreographer for Venus In Libra at Toneelhuis in Antwerp, Belgium.
